Urgent Exorcism

White's Unconditional Removal

Mark, what's your take on cards like Cleansing Ray and Urgent Exorcism, where white gets to unconditionally destroy a creature based on its type alone?

White can destroy any creature so it’s allowed to destroy a subset of creatures. It’s not something we do a lot of though.

Green's Targeted Destruction

Re: Green destroying creatures with specific qualities: white got Urgent Exorcism, which seems kind of a stretch but in flavor. Why couldn't green get something like "Destroy target Dragon, Angel, Demon, or Sphinx." (or other usually flying creature)

Green could probably get destroy target (creature) type that 100% of the time flies. That is true for Angels, Dragons and Sphinx but not Demons.

Creature Type Themes

"... creature type matters is linear". I hate to disagree with you here Maro, but Extinction, Baneslayer Angel, Rival's Duel, Rend Flesh, Urgent Exorcism, Engineered Plague, Victim of the Night, Consuming Bonfire, An-Zerrin Ruins, Callous Oppressor, Riptide Shapeshifter, Avacynian Priest, Restoration Angel, etc, etc, etc, are not linear. I agree ~99% of the ones you make are, but I don't see why 'type' is any more intrinsic than 'non-type', or 'share' is any more basic than 'don't share'.

The fact that most of your examples are linear makes my point. : )
