Tarnished Citadel

CEDH Staple Card Availability

New 08 Jul 2024 Asked by lrhall94universe-blog 4 Comments

As someone who plays mostly CEDH there are a few staples that are not reserve list that tend to just be generally hard to find even though they are not expensive, while secret lairs have introduced new arts and inventory for some of these cards certain cards like demonic consultation, tarnished citadel, and orcish lumberjack are still hard to comeby in good condition. i know you guys can't reprint everything all the time but maybe expressing CEDH meta cards in reprint sets helps people enter into this growing sub-sect of a fun and exciting format; Cheers and Looking forward to MTGxMarvel and FF

I can pass along the request.

Mana Confluence vs City

New 12 Apr 2014 Asked by kingrames 28 Comments

I like that Mana confluence is just flat out better than city of brass, not intentionally weaker like tarnished citadel tried to be. Being on the opposite side of the table as an Icy Manipulator (remember how people used to talk about how broken THAT was?) was as frustrating as seeing furnace of rath. Mana confluence protects you from both! And at a much nicer cost...

It’s not strictly better. You can prevent the damage from City of Brass.

Dredge Deck Contribution

It's hard to send you a Dredge list since Tumblr doesn't allow links and also doesn't give enough room to copypaste the decklist into the question field, but Ando Ferguson made top 8 at GP Indianapolis with a Dredge deck and you can see his list if you look up the coverage.

Cards from that deck that I had a hand in creating: Cephalid Colisseum, Gemstone Mine, Tarnished Citadel, Flayer of the Hatebound, Golgari Grave-Troll, Golgari Thug, Ichorid, Narcomeba, Stinkweed Imp, Breakthrough, Bridge from Below, Cabal Therapy, Dread Return, Faithless Looting, Lion’s Eye Diamond, Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite, Iona, Shield of Emeria. You’ll also notice that about 90+% of the cards come from sets I lead.
