Yes.

Card Art Favorites

When the art of cards like Savage Punch or Enthralling Victor come back, do you immediately know they're going to be audience favorites? Or are there surprises?

We anticipated both mostly because R&D are players too. If we really like something, odds are you will too.

"When we saw the art for Savage Punch we were able to predict your love." So, in other words, you guys can still change things deep into development?

The art for Khans of Tarkir was done before the art for Dragons of Tarkir.

Anticipating Fan Love

How is Epic Confrontation a response to our love of Savage Punch if you work 2 years in advance?

When the art for Savage Punch came back, we knew we had a winner even though all of you wouldn’t see it for a while. Remember that the people that make Magic are also fans of the game.

Predicting Fan Favorites

Wait, how could Epic Confrontation be a response to our love of Savage Punch? I thought the entire block was in the can by the time the first set came out?

When we saw the art for Savage Punch we were able to predict your love.

Epic Confrontation Thanks

Yesterday I wrote to you telling you I was a bit mad that there were no alternate art "Savage Punch" with dragon punching in the art. I like to think Epic Confrontation was a direct answer to my pleas. Thank you for making the world we live in more awesome.

Green Creature Removal

New 16 Nov 2014 Asked by psycojosho 46 Comments

So Green is supposed to specifically NOT have creature removal. What about cards like Time to Feed and Savage Punch?

Green can have creature removal. It just has to involve using its creatures. Green deals with creatures by having bigger creatures.

Expectations of Bears

New 27 Sep 2014 Asked by kallixti 29 Comments

Here's my problem with bears and Tarkir. After all the hype and excitement generated by previewing the Savage Punch art, it turns out there is only 1 Bear in KTK (plus one card which makes a Bear token). I wasn't expecting Bear tribal, but I was expecting Bears to have a meaningful presence in the set. So only seeing 1 Bear card disappointed me.

The bear punching art took on a life of its own. It’s hard during previews because we usually don’t say what the set is or isn’t. Perhaps when talk of bear tribal came up, I should have pointed out that Khans of Tarkir doesn’t have any.

Spell Coincidence

New 26 Sep 2014 Asked by singerofw 21 Comments

I just noticed that KTK has both Swift Kick and Savage Punch, both of which are fight spells that are geared towards two different clans. Coincidence or another cool thing you won't deny?

Is this like Cake or Death? : )
