Phyrexian Vindicator

Phyrexian Mirrors

Hi Mark! I had a conversation with a friend about reflections in magic, like black knight and white knight. And we ended up wondering, are the Phyrexian Obliterator and Phyrexian Vindicator the phyrexian equivalent?

They are (loose) mirrors.

Color Pie Questions

hey Mark, isn't Phyrexian Vindicator a bit of a bend color wise? I thought white didn't get to do direct damage anymore

It’s still part of white’s section of the color pie. It’s just not an effect we do much.

Phyrexian Vindicator Mechanics

Is the effect on Phyrexian Vindicator considered a color pie bend or is it something that white can do normally? It was a bit surprising to see white hitting targets of your choice with damage no matter the source of the damage.

It’s damage redirection. White’s had the ability since Alpha. We don’t do a lot of it these days, but it’s never stopped being a white thing.
