Ogre Slumlord

Future Rat Expansions

In the future, could we see a thematic expansion of rats? More death and plague focused like ogre slumlord and other death triggers, or maybe some food synergy since they eat trash. Also, I think they deserve a color expansion into golgari. Edhrec says "This unstoppable growth is often the Golgari's greatest strength and its biggest weakness, as enemies and allies alike are unable to control the actions of the swarm." Unstoppable swarm sure sounds like rats to me! Sincerely, a rat lover.

I can promise more Rats in the future.

Ravnica Rat Theme Absence

Why wasn't there a black creature that cared about Rats like previous ravnica blocks (Ratcatcher and Ogre Slumlord)? I still hope there is one in WAR!

One of the problems with a return (especially a third return) is there are so many things expected in the set and limited amount of room to fit it all in.

Nontraditional Lords

You've been toying with lords that don't share a creature type with their subjects, such as Ogre Slumlord (and half of Lorwyn block). Do you prefer this to traditional lords?

In a vacuum, I prefer lords be of their own type but when the flavor really makes sense, I enjoy the difference.

Rats in Deck

What's up with Rats? They get a lot of nice little guys with minor abilities, then you've got some nice big guys like the Kamigawa legendaries and Ogre Slumlord, but all in all it's hard to make a rat deck. I would hope they could some day be black's version of goblins.

Rats are a constant but I doubt they will ever be Black’s common iconic. Vampires and zombies are already duking out that battle.
