Meandering Towershell

Battlefield Entry Cards

New 03 Feb 2023 Asked by theactr-blog 22 Comments

What are the odds we see more cards like Meandering Towershell that enter battlefield during combat? Or even cards that come back in off of other triggers?

I don’t think we’ll see a lot of them (not enough for a mechanic), but it’s something I’m guessing we’ll see again.

Is it true that you are reprinting Meandering Towershell in Amonkhet and again every time it's been out of standard for one rotation?

How else can we represent turtles living a long time?

Oh, they were just littering Tarkir. “Not another meandering towershell.” (Sigh)

Are Mirror Match and Meandering Towershell part of an intentional effort to increase the visibility of the combat steps?

Not a concerted effort.

Meandering Towershell Impact

Meandering Towershell has its little 'cult' fanbase as a unique card that takes advantage of a not very much used creature type, and I for one, despite having tried to use the card in limited and failing, still love it. Has this influenced design at all and/or is there a small space in set designs allocated for these kinds of cards.

The details is where your audience falls in love with your game.

Towershell Timing Joke

My friend thinks you should've spoiled Meandering Towershell in Khans of Tarkir, and then released it in Fate Reforged.

My biggest sadness about Fate Reforged is Turtle McLittle didn’t make it through development.

Complexity in Khans

New 08 Nov 2014 Asked by kerrjf 22 Comments

I enjoy Khans limited; but I think it's pushed pretty far past the regular level of complexity that NWO sets have. IMO, Morph has easy for players to grasp; but I've seen many players of all calibers mess up in limited games due to 'counter lords' passing abilities to other creatures that have +1/+1 counters, mess up due to creatures being warriors and getting tribal stat buffs, or doing things like putting meandering towershell with their cards they delved away and forgetting to return it.

Khans of Tarkir is on the high end of what is acceptable complexity-wise.

Landwalk's Future

"will we ever see a return of landwalk?" "It has fallen out of favor with R&D so not any time soon." It appears that attacking isn't the only thing Meandering Towershell is slow at.

Landwalk isn’t 100% gone but its future isn’t bright.
