The Costing of Legends

The costing of the original Legends weren't that bad, in my opinion. At the time, human summons were pretty tiny and most games involved battles of mythical creatures. The Legends were humans that were big enough to compete on such a battlefield (Livonya Silone could 1v1 a Craw Wurm, for goodness sake!). And as a flavor innovation, Legends opened the biggest door in the game for future designers. The Legacy storyline would only exist on cards as flavor text if it weren't for the Legends set.

The concept of legendary creatures was a great advancement. The costing of the vast majority of legendary creatures in Legends was abysmal. Most were seriously overcosted, and this was at a time when creatures were overall much weaker.
