Haywire Mite

Flavor Text References

The flavour text on Haywire Mite from the Brother's War references Tergel, a goblin explosioneer. I know it's probably a coincidence, but does the reference (however accidental it may be) to one of the Unstable factions in a premier set make you smile?

It does. Note that this the Un-iverse has versions of things that have alternates in the main multiverse, such as Space Beleren.

Mite Subtype Variance

Haywire Mite has insect subtype, but no mite subtype. Skrelv, Defector Mite has mite subtype, but no insect subtype. Is there a reason for such a thing? Both mites in the name… but so different subtypes.

Different sets will handle creature types a little differently, as how the words are used can vary. Mite means a very specific thing in Phyrexia: All Will Be One which isn’t an insect.

Haywire Mite Naming

New 29 Jan 2023 Asked by amateurauteur 33 Comments

Why was Haywire Mite so named if WotC was definitely aware of Mites being a type in ONE when BRO names were locked in?

The name for Mites was not locked down when the names for Brothers’ War were.

Green in Pauper

and about green in pauper, its the least played color right now, because of all the really good board wipes and removals we have, like snuff out, breath weapon and Krark-clan shaman, so we need some more studier one/two drop creatures or better spells that can help the creatures survive the board wipes, even ways to help exile artifacts would help a lot against the most consistent and played deck (affinity), i was sad when i saw that Haywire Mite was not common

The key is figuring out things green could use that are something we would do at common.
