Dying to Serve

Zombie-Centered Card Design

may I ask why certain cards like "Dying to Serve" in the new innistrad set are on echantments and not zombie creatures? a discard-centric effect that produces zombies would be lovely on a zombie creature, as zombies love to use and abuse their creatures and tend not to want a lot of enchantments/noncreatures. thank you for your time!

Enchantments need global effects. They can’t all go on creatures. Also, you get more powerful effects for your mana cost on enchantments than creatures.

Carrying Over Mechanics

It'd be nice to have mechanics just carry over at least. There's interesting stuff that feels like it's thrown away just as there's space to get interesting or use it as a safety valve. Looking at the reception to Dying to Serve, it seems like "Decayed" would have been a better solution than Once Per Turn.

I am looking for more ways to carry mechanics over. I disagree on Dying to Serve. I just think many players overestimate the impact of “once per turn”. Also, if it was usable numerous times and made decayed Zombie tokens, it would have had to cost more.
