Treasure and Ramp Update

Is treasure or ramp (deranged assistant) still in blue's colors? Surprised it wasn't mentioned in the blue podcast.

Treasure is no longer blue.

Mana Production Rules

Earlier today you said "Blue gets a little mana production, but for colorless mana for a subset of spells." Does that mean Deranged Assistant is a bend, because there's no restriction on how the mana it produces is used? Thanks!

It’s a bend, but a small one.

Azorius Naming Origins

New 24 Jul 2015 Asked by jaymictheunyielding 24 Comments

To comment on two discussions: the Azorius are named for their parun (founder and first guildleader), Azor I. He was the guy that set up the Implicit Maze and all its powers and secrets. And blue generating colorless mana under certain conditions has been around for a while; see Deranged Assistant.

Aha, My gut was correct.

Tertiary Mana Production

New 02 Mar 2015 Asked by ilgreven 23 Comments

Would you say blue is "tertiary" in mana production? You've let it produce colorless mana (Deranged Assistant) or mana that's restricted for artifact use (Renowned Weaponsmith) recently, but would cards like Apprentice Wizard and Iceberg still be in blue's part of the pie?

Blue is allowed to produce colorless mana.

Blue Mana Acceleration

New 18 Oct 2014 Asked by innatebehavior 18 Comments

How does blue mana acceleration (i.e. Deranged Assistant, Grand Architect) fit into the color pie? Is it still something that blue gets?

It is something blue gets but it’s almost always either colorless or specifically allocated for artifacts.

Blue Mana Generation

New 21 Jul 2014 Asked by ismartman 28 Comments

Do you consider Deranged Assistant to be a color pie violation for blue since it generates mana?

Blue is allowed to add colorless mana to its mana pool usually flavored as being used for artifacts.
