Reanimation Methods

Why did you stop making Animate Dead and Dance of the Dead effects? That seems the fairest way to reanimate to me. Especially Dance. Were it doesn't untap and I have to pay mana to untap it. And each color can deal with said creature.

Auras have proven problematic as a means of reanimating. They’re wordy and have rules issues.

Enchanting Rules Specifics

Curses and a few other non-Future Sight cards have Enchant player, and Animate Dead / Dance of the Dead have Enchant creature card in a graveyard. The rules allow for enchanting any object or player.

The rules allow enchanting anything. My point was outside of silver border, Future Sight, and ancient Magic, we only enchant permanents on the battlefield and players.

Unearth Naming History

New 13 Jun 2019 Asked by arandomstringofcharacters 57 Comments

Ages ago, it was joked that players must love mechanics with the word "back" in them: buyback, flashback.... So to that end, why wasn't unearth named something like "comeback"?

Unearth’s playtest name was Flashdance based on the Flashback mechanic and the reanimation card Dance of the Dead.
