Unfinity Collector Requests

New 03 Oct 2022 Asked by jeffsachs 32 Comments

Hey Mark,

I want to thank you for giving Unfinity Collector Boosters a "list" slot. This is going to help me in my dream of making a fully foiled all un-card Commander deck (to get the best use of Super Secret Tech). I would like to request foil printings of: Timmy, Power Gamer; Strategy, Schmategy; Bronze Calendar; Jack-in-the-Mox; Checks and Balances; Common Courtesy; Free-for-All; Cheatyface; and Underdome.

In addition the following are really hard to get a hold of in foil and could use a reprint: Johnny, Combo Player; Who/What/When/Where/Why; Gleemax; Mox Lotus; City of Ass; Super Secret Tech.Thank you for all you've done for silly magic!

You’re welcome. I wish you the best of luck in your mission.

I have a question about Common Courtesy. Do I have to request permission from myself while it's out? :p

No.

Online Civility Initiative

"I’ve come up with a new function for my blog. I am going to try and help people learn how to be nicer on the internet." Bravo, sir! (clapclapclapclapclap)

Let me clarify something. My goal isn’t to shame people or make people feel bad. My issue is that there is a civility that people have in person that somehow has been deemed not necessary online. I feel that as we are moving to an online world that we have to stand up for common courtesy online. My goal is just to make the point - can’t you ask your question nicely? And I want to do this without resorting to rude behavior myself. I don’t want to become the thing I’m speaking against. That is why I try my hardest to be as polite as I can even in the face of people being, shall we say, less polite. What I’m asking for going forward on this blog is this. Feel free to ask whatever question you want.  I’m not trying to censor what you ask, just how you ask it. If you would like my time, be nice. That’s all I’m asking. To the vast majority of you who are very nice - awesome. Keep it up. The way we change the world is by each of us doing the right thing. Enough with my soap box. Back to answering questions about Magic.

Common Courtesy Rule

Common Courtesy says "Counter any spell unless its caster asks your permission to play that spell.". Does that mean we have to ask ourselves permission to cast the spell?

Yes.
