Clear a Path

Red Design Philosophy

Is clear a path still in pie for red? I know destroying creatures isn’t allowed, but something about the limit to defenders seems like it might matter?

It’s not something I think we’d make today.

"red doesn't do creature destruction anymore"Does that include conditional effects like Clear a Path?

Red should have a hard time killing high toughness creatures, even ones with defender.

Destroying Walls vs. Defenders

Blaster Mage, Chaos Charm, Dwarven Demolition Team, Goblin Digging Team, Goblin Masons, Siege Dragon, Tunnel, and Word of Blasting all say "destroy target wall". "Clear a Path" ("Destroy target creature with Defender") has always been something Red does.

Destroying a Wall is not the same thing as destroying a creature with Defender.

Red's Abilities

Red got Clear a Path (destroy tryst creature with defender) in RTR. Is that not in color pie anymore?

It wasn’t in color pie then. Red is not supposed to destroy creatures at all, let alone ones with Defender.

Which bends the colour pie more: Plummet or Clear a Path?

Both are technically in color.

Red's Wall Destruction

Why does Clear a Path destroy the creature with Defender? I thought red was supposed to have problems with high toughness creatures (typical for defenders) and red wasn't supposed to destroy creatures to set it apart from black.

Tunnel goes back to Alpha. Red’s had wall killing in its color pie for a long time. : )

Defender Deck Woes

"Clear a Path" makes my defender deck very, very sad.

You’ve never played against Tunnel? : )
