Why was orchard spirit (green wind drake) reprinted as recent as magic origins?


It’s harder to stop reprints of things we shouldn’t do than new cards.

Does it bug you when bland-but-needed eprints are added to your set? For example, Cancel in RTR, Wind Drake in DGM, or Divination in BTG. Those that aren't a part of that world, but are tossed in there for limited or constructed purposes?


We use those type of reprints because sometimes there’s no reason to reinvent the wheel. If an old version does what you need, you use that.

On the Llanowar mentor question, doesn't Pack Rat do exactly that? And if you added "named Wind Drake" to Talrand's rules text...


I believe the person was asking about cards that made tokens of other existing cards not of themselves. We have cards that make token copies of themselves almost every block.
