Weeping Angel

Weeping Angel Design

I REALLY enjoy the design of Weeping Angel. It's an angel, a white creature type, on a blue black card. But even though it's blue black mechanically, flash, first strike, vigilance, and removing an attacking creature are all white effects. It's white's iconic creature type out of color but still feeling white. That is just so cool. It also perfectly captures the Weeping Angel as a character so high fives to everyone for that amazing design.

I’ll pass the high fives along.

Color Pie Exceptions

Hi! I was reading your mechanical color pie 2021 article and you mention in it that you (almost) never make multicolor cards with an ability that is tertiary in one of its colors if the other color doesn’t have access to that ability. That made me wonder if the recent Glissa Sunslayer (BG first strike) and upcoming Weeping Angel (BU first strike) are a softening of this rule, a sign that first strike is being granted to more colors or just two of the rare exceptions. Thanks for looking at my question!

We make exceptions. It’s not the sign of a big change.

Weeping Angel Card

Just saw the recently revealed Weeping Angel card from the Doctor Who set. While I don't know much about Doctor Who, I do enjoy playing blue-black and that card will be quickly making its way into some of my decks. :)

Glad you like the design. By the way, if you only ever want to watch one “Doctor Who” episode, my pick is “Blink” which introduces the Weeping Angels.
