Skyclave Apparition

Mechanic Template Change

Maro, would you remind me again why WoTC moved away from Oblivion Ring effects (separate ETB/LTB triggers) in favor of Banishing Light style ones (a single trigger)? I was looking at the WOE card gallery and it struck me that Werefox Bodyguard would have been a neater trick if it had the old templating and since Skyclave Apparition was allowed to have it, I was wondering if the tool was still available or if the Skyclave (?)experiment(?) was badly received.

I assume it’s to avoid interactions where the item never returns.

White Versus Blue Space

Between Reduce to Memory, Skyclave Apparition, and Angelic Ascension can we take this as a sign that White is moving into Blue's space of "destroy something of yours and give you something back in return"?

Yeah, destroying something and giving the opponent something as compensation is being defined as a white thing. Transformation will be temporary or done through auras (aka it can be undone).

White's Answers and Card Draw

Mark, now that black is getting direct enchantment removal (which I disagree with), isn't it time to rethink white's answers in standard? The skyclave apparition is great, but considering most of white removal is at sorcery-speed and/or enchantment-based (which makes it soft), it's hard to argue white can't have card draw because it has answers when the latter isn't true anymore.

We are working on ways to allow white to have card draw that is appropriate to the color.
