Seal of Doom

Satisfaction with Seals

Would play design be more satisfied with Seals if their mana cost was 0 and they had an additional cost (e.g. U for Seal of Removal, 2B for Seal of Doom, etc) for their sacrifice?

Having mana activations helps with the strategic issue, but not the hidden information issue.

Request for More Seals

Can I put in a very niche request? Could we see more Seals in the future? Seals being an artifact or enchantment with an activated ability where you sacrifice it for a spell-like effect. (Seal of Primordium, Seal of Doom, Cindervines). They have so many interesting interactions above and beyond run-of-the-mill instants and sorceries, and I'd like to see a broader range of abilities available on one of my favourite designs.

The problem with Seals is they take away the hidden information. In general, instants of the same effect just lead to better game play.

Seal Cards Consideration

Was a cycle of "Seal" cards (like Seal of Doom and Seal of Fire) ever considered for Theros block?

We talked about it. EDIT: Oh yeah, the Fonts. We did do it.
