Pyretic Ritual

Mono-Black Rituals

Can mono black still get straight rituals (spells that make you go net positive in mana) without any additional costs? For example could Pyretic Ritual be color shifted to be in pie for Black?

No.

Mana Symbol Guidelines

What's the threshold beyond which you write "Add number [one mana symbol]" instead of "Add [certain number of symbols]" ? e.g. would a theoretical reprint of Seething Song say "add five R"? A theoretical reprint of Pyretic Ritual, "add three R"? Culling the Weak, "add four B"? Would that be decided at time of printing?

I think we use the number for four or more of the same mana symbol (in rules text).

Black Mana Ritual Shift

Dark Ritual as the first mana ritual, but lately black didn't get any mana ritual, only red. Why this? A black Pyretic Ritual would be too powerful?

Mana rituals moved from black’s part of the color pie to red like fifteen years ago.

Adding Abilities

Giving colours new abilities has to fit the play-style of the colour, not just the flavour. Ok, I agree with that. But if you do something long enough, eventually it becomes part of the play-style, like moving from "Dark Ritual" to "Pyretic Ritual." Is that an exception, or one of those early Magic decisions that R&D doesn't really agree with anymore?

No, fast mana is a good fit for red. The bigger problem is that development has figured out that bad things happen when we push fast mana too aggressively.
