Frazzled Editor

Errata Policy

Would you be able to do the ordinary pony errata in a frazzled editor style during the second print run?

We don’t change cards during subsequent print runs. Also, Unstable might not have a second print run. It depends on demand.

Definitions of Wordy

New 18 Nov 2017 Asked by npcdesigner-blog 23 Comments

Super Duper Death Ray only works as written if you interpret the reminder text as rules text. Does that mean Frazzled Editor has protection from it? Speaking of, Garbage Elemental and Frazzled Editor provide differing definitions of what constitutes 'wordy.' Garbage Elemental say rules text, while Frazzled Editor says all text. Who's right, or does it depend on the card?

You do not count reminder text for protection from wordy regardless of how much it helps you understand the card. Protection from wordy was written incorrectly in the reminder text of Frazzled Editor. We corrected it shortly after Unhinged came out. Garbage Elemental is the correct reminder text. When Unhinged gets its Oracle update, the change will be reflected.

Frazzled Editor's Oversight

Why has Frazzled Editor failed to correct the spelling of "Bureaucrat" on his type line?

He hasn’t got to it yet. He is frazzled.

Hi Mark, what text on in a text box does Frazzled Editor's "wordy" include? Does it also include flavor text and reminder text and text that appears in flavor images too?

It only includes rules text. Yes, it has clarification from the original Unhinged FAQ.

After reading about Mike, I thought immediately about Frazzled Editor. Did he get a chuckle with that one?

That card was created many years before Mike got to Wizards. Del Laugel, Magic’s Head Editor liked it. In fact, it was Del who wrote all the editing notes on the card text.Happy Birthday!

Pigmy vs Frazzled

New 08 Mar 2015 Asked by mythestopheles 12 Comments

In Unhinged, why does Pigmy Giant care about Flavor Text, while Frazzled Editor doesn't? They both refer to the text box, so I'm having trouble understanding the difference.

They have different abilities. Frazzled Editor has protection from wordy. It cannot be harmed by cards that are “wordy” which refers to rules text not just any text. A vanilla creature isn’t wordy regardless of how long its flavor text is. The reminder text on Frazzled Editor left out the word “rules” when talking about text and it was clarified in the Unhinged FAQ.

Rules Text Interpretation

Re: Frazzled Editor Un-ruling. You said it doesn't count flavor text, but Pygmy Giant from the same set seems to think flavor text matters. They both use the same term, "text box." What gives?

“Protection from wordy” only refers to rules text. Un-cards that care about text boxes care about the entire text box. A vanilla creature is not “wordy”.

Frazzled Editor Rule

Un-rules question: Does "protection from wordy" from Frazzled Editor counts reminder text and flavor text too? In that case, it would have protection from itself.

Protection from wordy just counts rules text.

Frazzled Editor Explanation

Un-rules question: how does R&D's Secret Lair interact with Frazzled Editor?

Frazzled Editor’s edited text is the real text presented in a fun way. It is not errata.

Tainted Monkey Rules Interaction

New 26 May 2013 Asked by fezzhead 6 Comments

If I choose the word "pen" with Tainted Monkey and my opponent puts Frazzled Editor into his graveyard, will he lose 3 life?

Yes, as the editing on Frazzled Editor counts as the real text.

Frazzled Editor Clarification

New 31 Aug 2012 Asked by dukkhasatva 0 Comments

Ok so after reading the Unhinged FAQTIWDAWCC, it says about Frazzled Editor: "What if a line has both italicized and non-italicized text? As long as a line has one word of non-italicized text it counts as a line of text for Frazzled Editor." Does this include flavor text that has non-italicized parts?

No.  That part is talking about reminder text. Frazzled Editor does not care about flavor text. A card being wordy )and thus applies to protection from wordy) needs to have wordy rules text.

Goblin Secret Agent

New 30 Aug 2012 Asked by dukkhasatva 1 Comments

Un-question: How many lines of text does Goblin Secret Agent have according to Frazzled Editor?

Four. Frazzled Editor doesn’t count flavor text just rules text. (It’s in the FAQ as protection from wordy was described poorly on the card.)
