Elemental Mastery

Token Name Consistency

"We don’t like to name things that work similarly but slightly different with the same name." There's precedent for doing it, though: Chandra, Flamecaller creates a 3/1 red Elemental creature token with Haste and EOT exile; Elemental Mastery creates an otherwise identical 1/1. It does introduce *some* added complexity, but not in Standard or (non-weird) Limited. It seems like minimal cost to give people something to explore.

There are plenty of other things to explore. Magic is not wanting in that category.

Dev Insight Sources

It looks like Aaron Forsythe also goes through the Gatherer and puts comments on random cards... or did in 2011 (I can't tell if he still does, due to a server error. I found one on Elemental Mastery). Do you know of any other internal-devign tibits that are out there we can gobble up on days like these where you're quiet?

Slow day? My boss gave me today off. Aaron did a card of the day for a bout nine months. Erik Lauer then picked up the gauntlet and was doing it sporadically for a while. I know that Brady Dommermuth answers story questions once a month or so on a thread in the story section of our boards. The website has three columns a week (“Making Magic”, “Uncharted Realms” and “Latest Development”) that focus on information you can only get from behind the scenes. I daily comics and a weekly blog about Magic.  I also have a Twitter (and Google+) account as does about twenty of R&D. That’s about all I can think of off the top of my head.
