Venarian Glimmer Issue

New 22 Oct 2023 Asked by wildmagic93 25 Comments

Hi, is venarian glimmer a big break on Blue?

Yes, blue doesn’t get straight discard, especially something along the lines of Coercion. The closest it gets is something like forced looting.

Coercion in Standard

New 23 Dec 2017 Asked by ilgreven 20 Comments

Is Coercion too strong for Standard, or is it not printed anymore because it allows someone to force a player to discard lands, while Duress et al do not?

We have moved away from “cheap” spells forcing players to discard lands.

Portuguese Naming Issues

Hi Mark! Cards in Portuguese also sometimes suffer from having two cards with the same name, such as Duress and Coercion (Coerção), Carbonize and Char (Carbonizar), and (oddly in the same block) Repeal and Overrule (Revogar). Then you also have some funny mistakes such as Ascended Lawmage ("Ascended Coronermage") and Skyknight Legionnaire ("Night Sky Legionnaire").

German Card Name Duplicate

More Laguage stories: There are two german cards with the name "Zwang": Duress and Coercion. Later versions of Coercion are translated with a different name.
