Boon Satyr Stat Change

New 03 Feb 2014 Asked by metallix87 42 Comments

You say there were no Bestow cards with non-square stats in Theros, yet Boon Satyr says otherwise. Conspiracy?

The set was handed over with square stats. Development changed Boon Satyr to give it a shot at constructed. Honestly, I forgot it was changed.

Stat Exception Noted

You've mentioned multiple times that all the bestow creatures in Theros had square stats. What about Boon Satyr, my constant nemesis?

He was the one exception, made by development.

Constructed Format Impact

Devotion and Monstrous didn't take it long to make it into strong standard strategies. Do you expect heroic and enchantment creatures to make a dent in constructed format before the next set comes out?

Scry, heroic and bestow have already showed up in high level tournament decks. Scry on the dual lands, Dissolve, Read the Bones and Thassa. Heroic on Akroan Crusader. Bestow on Boon Satyr.

Artist Payment Query

New 11 Oct 2013 Asked by edogman9955 10 Comments

Generally, are artists who make cards like the gods or planeswalkers better paid than artists who make say... Boon satyr?

The value of painting a more popular card isn’t in the art payment but in the fact that the artist can sell a lot more prints of their artwork because the demand for it is much higher.

Enchantment Creature Query

New 20 Sep 2013 Asked by undeadirishman-blog 9 Comments

How come Boon Satyr is an enchantment when all the other satyrs in Theros are just regular creatures? The other bestow creatures make some flavor sense, since they're all nymphs, spirits or emissaries of the gods, but Boon Satyr doesn't have any of that going for him.

The gods make their versions of creatures. Those are enchantment creatures.
