How likely is it that we'll see more voting effects? (Will of the council/Council's dilemma)

Pretty good in a future multiplayer product.

Voting Mechanics Evaluation

What number are the voting mechanics on the storm scale? 1st. Will of the Council. 2nd. Counil's Dilemma. I suspect Council's Dilemma is easier for standard because it still works in 1vs1.

Voting tends to be reserved for multiplayer-focused products.

Multiplayer Mechanics Request

New 19 Mar 2019 Asked by grey-oppenheimer 29 Comments

Mark, may I request more cards with multiplayer mechanics like Will of the Council, Undaunted, Tempting Offer, etc.? It sucks we only get 10 cards per year *at best*, mostly through commander Pre-Cons.

We only do multiplayer specific mechanics in multiplayer products, so there’s not a lot of other opportunities save the occasional innovative product like Conspiracy or Battlebond.

Multiplayer Mechanics Future

There are multiplayer-focused mechanics like Will of the Council that still work (though differently) in single player. Is there any chance of these mechanics showing up in a Standard legal set?

We tend to use mechanics in normal expansions that are maximized in two-player play not just technically playable.

Multiplayer Mechanics in Standard

What are the chances multiplayer mechanics (Will of the Council, Join Forces) get printed in a standard legal set?

Low as they don’t make much sense in a two-player game.

Here's a conspiracy for you: the acronym for "Will of the Council" is WotC, the same as Wizard of the Coast. Coincidence? I think not.
