Weather the Storm

Score of Storm on Storm Scale

Is Storm still a 10 on the Storm Scale? It feels like we've had more safe designs for Storm being tested in non-Standard products (Weather the Storm and Galvanic Relay come to mind), and have even had at least one non-keyworded Storm-like ability in Strixhaven (Show of Confidence), not to mention Strixhaven adding the Storm ability to the Historic format through the Mystical Archives. While none of the above things are dictated exactly by the Storm Scale, it feels like Storm has been getting more attention from Wizards recently. If Storm stops being a 10 on the Storm Scale, will it become the Banding Scale or the Dredge Scale?

I don’t see us printing Storm in a premier set, and even if we did, I doubt I’d change the name as it would just cause confusion as so many know it by that name.

Storm Scale Explanation

You have mentioned that a 10 on the "Storm Scale" means that a certain mechanics will never be printed again. Given the fact that Storm, after which the scale is named, is a 10, why did you decide to print a new Storm card in MH with "Weather the Storm"?

Two things:1) A 10 doesn’t mean it will never happen; it means highly unlikely. 2) The Storm Scale talks about how likely an item is to return in a Stsndard-legal set. Modern Horizons is not Standard-legal. Unstable, another supplemental set, also recently included a card with Storm.
