Understanding Squirrel-Powered Scheme

Heya, silver-bordered question here: If I control a Squirrel-Powered Scheme and activate the ability on a Arcane Investigator I control (or any similar card), does a resulting roll of 21 or 22 count as a 20 like it would in D&D, or be a bust like I'm scared it might?

Because the D&D cards don’t say 20+, they don’t do anything if your roll is above 20.

What happens if Squirrel-Powered Scheme increases one of AFR's die-rolls above 20?

If you have a roll not on the chart, nothing happens.

Does Squirrel-powered scheme work with cards like Willing Test subject and Chittering Doom or do they only care about the straight die roll?

It works with all cards that care about die roll results.
