On the storm scale: With the wide scale access to efficient enchantment removal in standard/pioneer where would you rate the reprint of bitterblossom and spellstutter sprite?

Good removal is not a justification to print broken cards.

Hey Mark it's my birthday and I am hopeful that you can give some trivia on spellstutter sprite, my favorite magic card. Also, does that card limit development for 1 mana faeries?

Faeries got added to Lorwyn once we realized the general tone the world was going to have. We ended putting them up in blue/black because they we made them Dimir-ish. The schtick was they were the only tribe not to change when the world changed. Spellstutter Sprite was made because we wanted a Faerie with an “enter the battlefield” effect that scaled based upon the number of faeries. A Mana Leak was the obvious answer as we wanted the faeries to be very control oriented. At the time all the blue faeries had flash so it was able to respond at the right time. Developmentally I’m not sure what it kept us from doing. Happy birthday!
