Footlight Fiend Classification

Is footlight fiend a break? Or large bend?

It’s a sleight bend in black, but a pretty small one. Black can drain any target for 1, so not getting the 1 life is minimal.

Black's Damage Approach

If black is reverting to life-loss in part to better distinguish it from red, how do you feel about stuff like Skeleton Archer and Footlight Fiend that deal direct damage to any target? I know Vicious Hunger-type effects mean they're not even really a bend, but they do muddy the water between black and red. I guess Footlight Fiend isn't so bad because it's hybrid

Black does do damage when creatures get involved because loss of life doesn’t work in that regard, so when it hits creatures or players, we’ll still do it as damage.
