Disemvowel

Disemvowel Rule Nuances

I'm writing an article on Unfinity rules questions. How goes Disemvowel work against like a German language card? How about Russian (which has 10 vowels)? How about Chinese, which I think has no vowels? My guess was use the language as written, unless you don't know how, then use English.

It looks at the actual name of the card. If that language has an A, E, I, O, U, or Y, it counts them. If they don’t it doesn’t.

Disemvowel and Old Spellings

I know you said the golden rule for Acorn games is to play the cards “as printed” with regard to art, names, etc. For casual constructed games, if I Disemvowel someone’s creature that uses the old spellings of aether, like Ætherling or a Lorwyn printing of Aethersnipe (spelled Æthersnipe there), would you count Æ as one unique vowel (like in some languages), not a vowel at all, or just as A and e?

It’s counted as an A and an E. They’re just jammed together.
