Clever Impersonator

Green's Cloning Ability

New 29 Dec 2018 Asked by codenamejd 30 Comments

What exactly can Green clone? Naturally, it should be it's own permanents, at least when it comes to creatures, and we know it can copy tokens. But could Green copy it's own enchantments? Lands? Could Green get a Clever Impersonator, provided it said "that you control"?

Green can make clone creature tokens of its own creatures, that is all. (It can also fetch another copy of a creature it controls on the battlefield from its library.)

FYI. Clever Impersonator can already copy a planeswalker.

I think they meant a clone that only copies planeswalkers.

Copy Enchantment Rarity

Since it was brought up, could we get more cards that have copy enchantment effects? I understand that that could be problematic, but artifacts often are too, and they have a number of cards that can copy or create token copies, whereas enchantments only have the one (or two, with clever impersonator.)

Auras existing make copy enchantment effects a bit more complicated. We still do them, just less frequently.

It's my birthday and I just wanted to know some of the flavor behind clever impersonator and why he can shapeshift into a planeswalker.

He’s *very* clever.

On June 7 2012 "8bitvalkyrie said: Would you ever consider making a clone for planeswalkers?" You replied "Danger Will Robinson, Danger!" Did you already know about Clever Impersonator from KTK?

I did. We like to live dangerously. : )
