Castable Lands Complexity

Re: Castable Lands, in Commander 2018 there was Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle, a creature that became a land as it entered the battlefield with counters.

The rules can handle permanents that become lands once on the battlefield. The issue is lands with a mana cost in your hand.

Becoming Land Creatures

Cards that are both creatures and lands (Dryad Arbor) are seen as a mistake because of their play issues, right? But there aren't inherently huge problems with things BECOMING land creatures, as it's a pretty signature ability of Nissa, and lands that become creatures are always popular. Do you think there's much room to explore creatures that are made into lands by their own abilities, like with Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle (A personal favourite card of mine)?

Lands that activate to become creatures don’t cause issues. Permanents that activate to become lands also are fine.

While we're talking about krakens, I'd like to high five whoever designed Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle. It's such a unique and flavorful design.

I agree. I’ll track down the designer and give them a high five.
