Stifle

Grand Calcutron Mechanics

Since Grand Calcutron says you can only play the first card of your program, and if you stifle it you can't do things that require you to have a program, does that mean you can't play spells?
...If yes I have a new deck idea :3

If you don’t have a program you ignore things telling you to use the program.

Un-ruling, What happens if I cast Stifle on Grand Calculotron's etb effect?

If your hand doesn’t become a program, you ignore all the things that require a program to do.

Addressing Stifle Effects in White

Apologies if you've answered this already! But does white's counterspell-ing being about delays mean that effects like Stifle could (not necessarily *will*!) be in white, since it's just saying "not right now" to that ability? Or is stifling a whooooole other ballgame?

No, I’m talking about effects like Lapse of Certainty.

Color Pie Ability Attribution

I'm not sure if there would ever be a great place to print it beyond a Modern Horizons-style supplemental set, but would a card like Stifle be in color pie for white? It seems more on-brand than unconditional "counter target spell."

That is not a white ability.

Art Card Change - Unhinged/Unsanctioned

New 02 Mar 2020 Asked by suigenyukiouji 51 Comments

I've just noticed the cards in Johnny, Combo Player's art have changed between Unhinged and Unsanctioned. What are the new cards, and why have they changed? (Unhinged displayed Johnny himself, along with Soul Foundry, Recycle, Stifle, Clock of Omens, Urza's Contact Lenses, Cadaverous Bloom, and Mind Over Matter)

It’s a new combo. I don’t remember all the cards off the top of my head, but the flavor text references a bunch of them.

Missing Stifle Mention

You missed Stifle in your run down of ability countering today. Arguably the most prolific ability counter of them all!
