White Quench Possibility

New 09 Jan 2024 Asked by thornthallid 39 Comments

Hi Mark. I recently asked about a white Quash, which is clearly ridiculous. What I meant was, if or when: a white QUENCH.

White is allowed in the color pie to do taxing counterspells. That doesn’t mean it gets to do it as efficiently as blue, so white can have Quench’s rules text, but not necessarily its mana cost. Also, play design isn’t interested in making many white counterspells. Just because the color pie allows it, doesn’t mean we’ll necessarily make it.

Quash Effect in White

A previous asker asked if Quash would be in White....but there is a White version called Scour snce its part of a cycle.

They wanted Quash’s exact effect as a white card which white couldn’t do. Scour removes enchantments which is something white can do.

If or when: a White version of Quash?

Technically, if, but that’s not a white card effect.

Time Travel Concerns

New 19 Dec 2014 Asked by ricardolongo 34 Comments

One thing I dislike about time travelling stories is how they make reality feel less important. Whenever something significant happens, it's frustrating to know there exists a possibility within a story's universe for it to simply be undone. Can you quash my fears that you guys may fall for this trap with Fate Reforged?

I’ll say this. The creative team took great pains to ensure that the mode of time travel was something unique that cannot be repeated. Time travel will not be a tool for solving future problems.
