Uncommon Enchantments

I always thought those red "build-around-me" uncommon enchantments were classically Johnny. (Pyroconvergence, Burning Vengeance, etc) But you said Spike likes them. Are they Johnny/Spike?

The uncommons tend to be Spike/Johnny because they’re designed for drafting.

Guns in Fantasy

Does a flamethrower count as a gun? Are you guys becoming more lenient about the use of guns in Magic or is Pyroconvergence more of an exception. The reason I ask is because I would love to see a cyberpunk themed block and guns seem like an almost necessary inclusion.

No, we don’t think of a flamethrower as a gun. While Magic has had a gun or two in its past (Portal Second Age, I’m looking at you), we’ve decided that guns just don’t have a place in a fantasy game. Things that are too modern tend to feel out of place in fantasy.
