Counting Princess Cards

New 27 May 2024 Asked by zombsidian 5 Comments

Of the over 27,000 Magic cards made, only four have the word Princess in their name. The first Princess Lucrezia came out in Legends back in 1994. Two are from Eldraine, our fairy tale inspired plane: Beloved Princess and The Princess Takes Flight. The final one is the only Universes Beyond card, from The Princess Bride Secret Lair: Buttercup, Provincial Princess.

I don't mean to "Uhm, actually" but don't Princess Twilight Sparkle and Nightmare Moon // Princess Luna also count twoards the Princess name count?

They do. I don’t know why my search didn’t bring them up.

Princesses Influence

Hi Mark, Happy Birthday! You and my youngest daughter, Thaelia, share a birthday! She's too young for Magic just yet, but in her stead, might I ask for any trivia of how Princesses (her favorite topic) may have influenced Magic the Gathering?

Revisited Legends Request

Hi Mark. The revisited Legends from the Set Legends are probably my most favorite thing ever in MtG. But I am so sad that some of my favorites were sadly not chosen. Please tell me you have planned on doing more of them. I definitely need a playable Princess Lucrezia and Gosta Dirk. Please please please

I’ll pass along the request.
