Charm Spells Opinion

Following your comment about disjointed multicolor design. What's your opinion on the Charm spells? (e.g. Izzet Charm, Crosis' Charm, even Kolaghan's Command)

Certain spell structures like charms allow a little extra latitude on what you can mix.

Lucky Charms Explained

What do people mean when they say "lucky charms" as of late? I thought "lucky charms" referred to a UWR deck from Gatecrash Standard that used Boros Charm, Azorius Charm, and Izzet Charm.

Lucky charm is a nickname for any artifact that gains you 1life when you play a particular color spell. The first cycle of lucky charms was in Alpha (Ivory Cup, Crystal Rod, Throne of Bone, Iron Star & Wooden Sphere).

Izzet Charm Structure

Is it deliberate that Izzet Charm has one red ability (Shock), one blue ability (Spell Pierce), and one that's both (Careful Study/Faithless Looting)? Are other multicolored charm spells done that way?

Yes, you’ve hit the magical recipe.

Return of Charms

New 30 Aug 2012 Asked by sachieiel 7 Comments

This isn't a question, but I (like everyone) have seen the Return to Ravnica cards present in the Izzet vs. Golgari deck. As such, I would like to thank anyone and everyone who is responsible for the return of charms (the alara charms being some of my all time favourite magic cards). Only the Izzet charm has been spoiled so far and it's everything I want from a magic card. I just wanted to let you know how happy I am to see them, great call!

Thanks. I was the one responsible for convincing Ken to put in the charms. so I’m happy to see people are excited.
