Conditions for Printing Colorless Creatures

What conditions have to be met for a creature to be printed as truly colorless (by which I mean "not an artifact creature" and "not an eldrazi")? Ikoria had a couple of them like Farfinder, but I don't think we've had any more since then. Did Ikoria as a set mechanically need more colorless creatures but couldn't justify them as artifact creatures lorewise?

It’s mostly a flavor call. If there is an artifact theme, that will usually push us to making them artifact creatures.Why, by the way, is an Eldrazi “not truly colorless”?

Colorless Creatures in Ikoria

As far as I know Ikoria features the first colorless living creatures that aren't Eldrazi (Farfinder, Adaptive Shimmerer and Mysterious Egg). All these seem rather green or white to me. Is there any flavor/lore reason behind them being colorless?

We wanted all decks to have access to them.

Logic Behind Card Mutate

Why does mutate only keep the power and toughness of the top card, and why does it not add the power and toughness of the bottom card as well? Example for the second question, I control + own a 1/1 Farfinder and I mutate a Brokkos, Apex of of Forever that's a 6/6. The creature becomes a 7/7 (6/6 + 1/1).

Maybe I can save some time.Question: Why didn’t you add <thing X> to Mutate?Answer: Mutate was already complicated enough.
