Braids, Conjurer Adept

Mana Cost Avoidance

I recognize there are play design reasons to limit these effects, but is Show and Tell / Braids, Conjurer Adept still in pie for blue and is Eureka / Hypergenesis still in pie for green? Can other colors theoretically do this effect for permanent types that they care about?

Avoiding mana costs is dangerous, so we have to be careful how often we do it. All colors have some ability to put relevant things from their hand onto the battlefield, but again, it’s not something we should be doing with any frequency.

Alternative Character Versions

Could we ever get a planar chaos like set that didn't break the colour pie but gave us alternative versions of characters? Like how Braids, Conjurer Adept is an alternate version of Braids, Cabal Minion?

That would be more likely something we do in a supplemental set.

I followed you basically the day after my birthday, so I felt I should do the proper thing and wait the year out. Not that the day has finally rolled around again, could I get some birthday trivia on either of my favorite cards, Trepanation Blade or Braids, Conjurer Adept?

Braids wasn’t originally going to be a legendary creature but we saw an illustration we liked and decided it should be upgraded to a legendary creature. Happy Birthday!

Time Spiral Canon Impact

Do the events of Time Spiral mean that killed-off in canon characters could be brought back into the game as different versions, a la Braids, Conjurer Adept?

No, it doesn’t.

Planar Chaos Performance

"Our last “what if” set, Coldsnap, didn’t do all that well. " Wasn't Planar Chaos also a "what if" set from a storyline point of view, with cards such as Mirri the Cursed and Braids, Conjurer Adept?

Planar Chaos also did not do well.
