Okay, this has been bugging me for a long time: given that Springjack Shepherd creates goat tokens, why isn't it a Springjack Goatherd?

Maybe he’s a goat shepherd. That’s a thing, right?

Could I get some trivia about Springjack Shepherd for my birthday?

When we made Goatnapper in Lorwyn, I told the design team we needed a goat. They said, “No, it’s funny because it works with all the changelings.” I said, “It still will work with them but people are going to complain we made a Goatnapper and made no Goat for him to steal.” I couldn’t change their minds. Then when Lorwyn came out I got a lot of mail asking “Where’s the Goat?” Finally, before the block ended, I managed to get a card in that made Goats. I actually got a number of letters saying, “Thanks for the Goat. We appreciate it.” Happy Birthday!
