Sanguine Praetor

Non-Phyrexian Praetor Query

Hey Mark, I noticed that there are two non-phyrexian creatures that have the “Praetor” subtype: “Ebon Praetor” and “Sanguine Praetor” (both of which have the supertype “Avatar”). Could you please explain why these exist, as I was under the impression that “Praetor” is a Phyrexian-exclusive subtype? To me it feels very out-of-place… sort of like seeing a “Creature — Eldrazi Citizen”…!

Praetor is an English word. It’s not exclusive to Phyrexians.
