Is there a particular reason crabs have an association with mill? E.G. Hedron Crab, Ruin Crab?

When you do something once the players like, it can snowball.

I'm disappointed Hedron Crab isn't in the cute bracket. :(

I’m saving it for the Crab bracket.

Card Trivia Birthday

It's my birthday today! Any triva you can share on the cards winter orb, dueling grounds, bottle gnomes or hedron crab?

The original flavor text of Bottle Gnomes from Tempest is one of my favorite. The writers were each assigned characters and I wrote Ertai and Karn. I decided I wanted Karn to be a fan of parables. Happy Birthday!

Does that mean there was almost an overly hedron crab strong mill deck in standard?

For a moment in time, yes.

Why no Hedron Crab reprint?

It caused problems in constructed playtesting.

Future Cute Cards

With magic trying to accommodate more different kinds of players now, is there a chance we'll see more 'cute' cards like totally lost or Hedron crab going forward? In other TCGs you can make entire decks around them but in magic they are virtually non-existent and i feel the game is a lotless interesting by their absence.

You can build decks around “cute” cards just not Standard decks. We do “cuteness” is small increments but in twenty-two years we’ve done a lot.
