Sixth Edition Errata

New 06 Oct 2020 Asked by calathan1 26 Comments

Some cards received functional errata when they were reprinted in Sixth Edition, for example Castle and Flying Carpet. Why was it decided to change them at that time?

I believe the thought at the time was they had classic names that we wanted to keep so we tweaked them to be the cleaner versions.

If R&D designed a new flying carpet card, would it be a vehicle or an equipment?

Ah, the Unicycle debate. Let’s ask all of you, is a flying carpet a vehicle or an equipment? (I’m not taking about the card Flying Carpet as that is neither.)

Rules Text Changes

This has bothered me since forever. Why did you change the rules text on Flying Carpet? You changed back the much more "concerning" Time Vault rules text back to it's original printing, but Flying Carpet has been left in the wind.

There are cards that we changed the rules text and then printed new cards with the altered text. If more cards are in print with the altered text, we didn’t change it back to its original wording.

If Flying Carpet were made today would you make it an equipment that granted flying?

Yup.

Flying Carpet Errata

What's the story behind Flying Carpet's functional errata?

Tweaked to fit flavor back when we were less careful about mechanical errata.
