Hello Mark,I just listened to your podcast on 0-Mana Artifacts and loved it but it got me wondering if you ever considered for everflowing chalice to work similar to chalice of the void (Manacost XX insted of 0 with Multikicker)?

No, because we were trying to make it work with multikicker, the new mechanic in the set.

Creation of Proliferate

Was proliferate (the creation of the mechanic) your idea? It feels like something you'd do. I had the proliferate deck in my MM2015 pod today and had the time of my life ticking up my everflowing chalice.

I did create proliferate. Originally it just worked on -1/-1 counters and poison counters but Mark Globus suggested it working on all counters and I thought it was a great suggestion and changed it on the spot.

Diamond Cycle in Standard

I find it incredibly difficult to believe that the diamond cycle is too good for standard. They cost 2, etb tapped, and make 1 color. Yes they get you from 2 to 4 in colorless, but they're easily some of the weakest mana rocks ever conceived. We've had much stronger mana rocks printed recently, like Everflowing Chalice. I think the reason we haven't seen the diamond cycle reprinted is because you forgot it existed. That said, they have beautiful art and I want them foiled in a modern frame.

I’ve talked with Erik Lauer, Head Developer (my equivalent for development) and he has told me that a cycle of diamonds is too much for Standard.

Just wanted you to know that i love the design of Everflowing Chalice. Any idea who designed it?

I think that’s a Ken Nagle design but I’m not 100% sure.
