Hi Mark, today is my birthday and I invoke the right to birthday trivia : can you tell me how the heck Zephyr Spirit made it to print ?

I have no idea what this particular card was doing in the set. Sometimes we make bad cards.Happy Birthday!

Could we please get an explanation on Zephyr Spirit? I get that bad cards have to exist but this one's so bad I think a lot of people's first impression was to assume it was a typo! What gives??

Every once in a while we want a creature so bad even the beginners get it’s bad.

Design Playability

In design, are all cards supposed to be playable? If yes, then why were cards like Ember Shot, Flamecast Wheel, and Zephyr Spirit created?

All cards have a purpose. Not all cards are playable in all formats or by all level of players.
