Vendetta

Vendetta Name Oddity

More "foreign language Magic" fun: Vendetta has the same name in every western language, except for Italian. That's because it had already used the word for Vengeance, and had to settle for calling it "Rivincita" which can actually mean "revenge" but more commonly is used to mean "rematch".

Vendetta Translation Note

Vendetta is an Italian word. But the card Vendetta is translated differently in Italian, because that name was already used for the translation of a different card ("Revenge" or something like that)!

Legendary Common Dilemma

Could V (from V for Vendetta) be a legendary common? He was not a man after all but an idea. c:

Legendary means “special”.
Common means “ordinary”. It’s very difficult to overlap the two things. Having a common V, I feel, would undercut the specialness of the character.
