Green's Shift in Strategy

New 14 Aug 2022 Asked by hiygamer 40 Comments

With green shifting away from going wide with creatures, does this mean that things that reward going wide like Ridgescale Tusker and Cryptolith Rite are less likely to show up in green in the future?

The effect on Ridgescale Tusker is more likely to be seen in white than green in the future. Cryptolith Rite is really something only green can do.Note that white being primary in go wide effects doesn’t mean green can never get them, just that it will do so less of the time than it has in the past and usually for larger thematic reasons.

Pangolin Type Request

Ridgescale Tusker didn't get updated to be a pangolin, but it sure looks like a pangolin. Can you please ask the people in charge of creature types to make it a pangolin?

I’ll pass along the concern.

Pangolins in Magic

Are Prowling Pangolin, Ridgescale Tusker, and maybe Bumbling Pangolin going to be pangolins now that global series has made pangolin a creature type?

It’s been a common question. I do not know what impact the Global Series will have on the rest of Magic.
