Knight Exemplar

Indestructibility Flavor

New 27 Feb 2019 Asked by veni-vidi-itwasok 30 Comments

I looked at my list of cards I wanna buy to complete some decks I built and I was curious. What does indestructible do flavor wise? Everything can die but what's the idea of random knights (from Knight Exemplar) not being able to?

Magical protection.

Self-Inclusive Protection

Almost all cards that grant hexproof or indestructibility to a type of cards don't include themselves, like Drogskol Captain and Knight Exemplar. These provide those 'shields down' moment you have talked about. What is your opinion on cards like Darksteel Forge and the new Avacyn that include themselves in their protection?

I feel like the former should be the default but it’s okay every once in a while to make the latter especially on very expensive cards which cannot come out until late game.
