Mana Rock Potential

I know you're not a Developer (IKYNAD?) but how bad would a CMC 1 Mana Rock have to be to see print? Sol Ring/Mana Vault are obviously too good, but could a Diamond cost 1? (maybe a colorless one?) Green's Mana Dudes with CMC 1 don't seem to break anything...

According to development, it would only filter mana and not produce it at 1 mana. Mana Cylix, from Planeshift, would be an example.
