Firemane Avenger

Battalion Mechanic Reasoning

New 03 Jan 2013 Asked by wuyley 11 Comments

Why do cards like Boros Elite and Firemane Avenger even need the Battalion in front of the ability when you could just skip that and simply start with, "Whenever -cardname- attacks.... The cards already have to say it all instead of just Battalion - Do 3 damage to a creature and or player and gain 3 life" so what is the reasoning behind it. I could see if they all did the same things after the trigger or if other cards in the set cared about Battalion, etc, but I just don't see it.

All ability words can be skipped. That’s what an ability word is, a name for a piece of text that could stand alone without it.

Firemane Avenger Naming

MaRo, was Firemane Avenger named so people with Serra Avenger could yell "AVENGERS, ASSEMBLE!" every time they attack together? Also, as a Boros fan: thankyou.

I never deny cool things. : )
