Eureka

Mana Cost Avoidance

I recognize there are play design reasons to limit these effects, but is Show and Tell / Braids, Conjurer Adept still in pie for blue and is Eureka / Hypergenesis still in pie for green? Can other colors theoretically do this effect for permanent types that they care about?

Avoiding mana costs is dangerous, so we have to be careful how often we do it. All colors have some ability to put relevant things from their hand onto the battlefield, but again, it’s not something we should be doing with any frequency.

RTR Draft Feasibility

Was there a single eureka moment, decision, or breakthrough that convinced R&D that the RTR draft method was practical or logistically possible?

It wasn’t a single moment. We built three expansions out of Ravnica block cards are tested out the format. From that, we felt we were close enough that we could pull it off.

Undying Mechanic Genesis

The story for developing undying seem like very "duh" solutions (can't have persist in a +1/+1 set, so ill just make persist with +1/+1 and call it something else). Do most mechanics have that elegantly a solution? Or is that a rare eureka moment that doesn't occur often?

In my sixteen years of designing Magic cards that was probably my most “ah ha” moment. Usually answers are not this easy to come by.
