Bovine Intervention

Preserving Light Content

Mark I just want to say I have a great deal of love for “holy cow” and “bovine intervention” I think the set is so much better for them. Please don’t become overzealous in cutting out the light stuff.

We’re not. There is a significant sized audience that likes seeing some light stuff in sets. Note that a few light cards does not erase a set having a more serious overall tone.

FWIW, I think Holy Cow and Bovine Intervention are hilarious and I found the detectice hats kinda campy and cringe. That's just me tho.

Different folks, different strokes.

Feedback on Lighter Content

"I do think we're upping the number of individually lighter cards than we've done in the past, but that's coming from the feedback from the players that many enjoy having sets have some lighter content. Is that what you're responding to?"

Yeah, more or less. Comedic probably wasn't the right word for what I was responding to, exactly, but the...silly? (I'm not trying to be disparaging here, I'm just not sure what word to use) content in MKM and OTJ is definitely a larger portion of those sets than we normally see outside of Un- setsThe example that prompted this was Holy Cow, which got previewed yesterday, to which a friend of mine responded, "The Un-sets have breached containment." I saw Bovine Intervention a little while later, and I decided then that I'm going to skip this set like I did MKM. It's just not for me, and especially for premier sets, which I'd gotten back into more in the last year, that's a real bummerAnd again, I'm not trying to disparage anyone who enjoys it. I like to crack a smile now and again when I'm browsing a set, too, but there's a point at which it diminishes my enjoyment, rather than enhancing itOne of the strengths you've mentioned for the non-block model is that we don't have to stay on the same plane for a year, which helps when people don't care much for a particular plane, which I can sympathize with here in that if we got a year of sets like MKM and OTJ, I'd probably check out pretty hardSo personally, I'd appreciate a bit less of that or at least to have some more room in between sets with that kind of tone

I just want to get a gauge of what’s upsetting you. Is it that a set has a card like Holy Cow at all or that cards like that exist at a certain volume?
